Star Trek, The Original Series, is a science fiction television series created by Gene Roddenberry in 1966 through to 1969 a total of 79 episodes were produced. Although the show was cancelled, it spawned a strong fan following and later achieved iconic status as a worldwide television phenomenon.

Star Trek, The Original Series was set in the 23rd century, Star Trek follows the adventures of the starship Enterprise and its crew, led by the infamous, Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner), his First Officer Mr. Spock (Leonard Nimoy), and his Chief Medical Officer Leonard McCoy (DeForest Kelley).

Because of the fan popularity of this tv series, it spawned films and later on a new set of tv series which followed new caracters. but this was the tv series which started it all. with the world famous words! "to boldly go where no one man has gone before"
